Leao calls attacking midfielder to join AC Milan
Portuguese left winger Rafael Leao acts as an “agent” on social media inviting the attacking midfielder to join him at AC Milan.
Social networks now represent one of the main channels for getting to know better some situations and the mood of footballers. Often posts or comments on social media create a lot of noise and that’s exactly what happened this week with Rafael Leao at its center.
The AC Milan winger is in the midst of discussions with the club for the renewal of his contract and his future is still hanging by a thread. The current agreement of the 23-year-old Portugal ace expires in 2024 and there are still many issues to solve, both in regards to his contract and the payment of the near 20 million fine to Sporting Lisbon.
Nonetheless, one of his social comments hints at a positive outcome. The former Lille player today published a comment on a post by another player inviting him to come and play for the Rossoneri: “Come to AC Milan” said Leao to Hungarian attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
A direct invite for the 22-year-old star of Red Bull Leipzig. After forming a lethal partnership with Erling Haaland at RB Salzburg, Szoboszlai joined Leipzig for a fee of €22 million. He was on AC Milan’s radar during that time but Szoboszlai preferred a move to Germany. A decision he justified as the best for his career and time has proven him right.
In his first season in Germany Dominik Szoboszlai scored 10 goals and assisted 9. In 33 appearances so far, the Hungarian attacking midfielder has found the back of the net on 5 occasions and has provided 13 assists. Meanwhile his market value has doubled to at least €40 million.
